How we estimate these fees
Delivery apps don't publish a single fixed price — fees flex with your location, the restaurant, demand, and promotions. These are typical 2026 U.S. consumer defaults, clearly labeled as estimates. Your actual checkout screen is the source of truth.
- Service fee — a percent of your subtotal that goes to the app. DoorDash ~10–15% (min ~$0.60), Uber Eats ~10–15%, Grubhub ~5–15%. We default to DoorDash 11%, Uber Eats 15%, Grubhub 10%.
- Delivery fee — a flat charge that varies by distance & demand. Typical ranges: DoorDash
$1.99–$5.99, Uber Eats$0.49–$5.99, Grubhub$0.99–$12. Defaults: $3.99 / $2.99 / $4.99. - Small-order fee — added when your subtotal is below ~$10–$12. Defaults: DoorDash $2.50 under $10, Uber Eats $2.00 under $12, Grubhub $2.00 under $10.
- Membership — DashPass / Uber One / Grubhub+ waive the delivery fee and trim the service fee on eligible orders. Toggle it on to model that.
- Tip — calculated on the food subtotal (industry norm 15–20%). Editable above.
Rates reviewed June 2026. Note: the FTC's 2026 rule on online food-delivery fees now requires apps to show the all-in price up front — this tool helps you sanity-check it.
